Description Mackintosh was impressed by Cremona's octagonal baptistery, making detailed drawings of both its exterior and interior. A plain Lombard Romanesque building of 1167, its interior is entirely of brick relieved by elegant stone columns and two arcaded galleries with a dome of 20.5m diameter surmounted by a lantern. The drawing, bottom right, represents the capital and base of one of the columns.
