Description Two cattle are turning away from the front of the painting, walking in the direction of a forest in the background. The painting belongs to the nineteenth-century Barbizon School, a group of landscape painters who worked around the village of Barbizon, on the edge of the Forest of Fontainebleau. The French title of the painting may be translated as 'Cows out to Pasture' or perhaps 'Cows Grazing'.
