Description A busy scene in foreground where fourteen individual peasants are depicted walking, talking, resting, riding on horseback or leading a pack mule. Two dogs add to the scene taking place on a road that leads to a town in the distance and low hills beyond. To the right foreground two bare tree trunks are rooted in a rocky outcrop and on the left is the denser tree growth of the forest itself.
