Description Born in Florence in 1847, Andreotti studied in the Florence Academy and was made a professor there. The King of Italy commissioned a large painting from him of Savonarola. He was celebrated for his meticulous rendering of Italian period costume of seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. He painted many frescoes and decorative paintings at Florence. Known internationally, he exhibited at the Royal Academy in London 1879-1883.
