Description A nude man holding the reins of a horse (horse not shown) with both hands. This is probably a study for Géricault's famous painting, The Race of the Riderless Horses at Rome. His legs are apart and his muscles are tensed with effort. This work reflects a familiar theme from Géricault's work of the struggle between man and untamed nature.
