Description A man in eighteenth-century dress is praying to a saint to assist in the curing of a sick child. The devils are shown departing from the sick child. The inscription is in part from Psalm 21. The painting is by an Italian painter and was acquired in Rome in 1932 by an agent of Wellcome's. The painting was classed by Wellcome as a votive work.
