Description A party is being staged in a grand palace with music and actors in which the entertainers parody the antics of Italian medicine vendors or quack doctors in order to amuse the company. The painting is attributed to Hendrick Govaerts, about 1710, a Flemish painter who was baptised in Malines in 1669. He worked in Frankfurt, Vienna, Prague and Hungary, settling in Anvers in 1699. He specialised in history, genre and allegorical scenes.
