Description The painting shows a blind pilgrim with a 'St Jaques' shell on his hat feeling the pulse of a young girl. A woman in the centre is holding a bottle which is probably a urine sample. An inscription in French on the painting says that the doctors name is 'Master Robert'.

Notes The accession card at the Wellcome Library records this work as being Visit to the Doctor, 'Dutch School'. It has 'no particulars' in the acquisition field. The work appeared on a Wellcome Historical Medical Museum picture in a calendar in August-September 1926.
