Notes This watercolour (unsigned), which used to hang in the Principal's office at the Central School, has been given the date c.1912 (see CSAD exhibition catalogue, 1984. Lethaby's friend Alfred Powell recalls spending time with Lethaby in Yorkshire, drawing and making watercolour sketches. He comments on these paintings: "You see those paintings on his wall . . . ." Whether Powell is referring to the Central School 'wall' of Lethaby's office is unclear, although it does seem likely. (NB Lethaby retired as Principal in 1911).
