Description Spine by Talwin Morris. Red cloth. Two horizontal slabs to base, blocked in emerald-green, from which rise gilt stems that terminate alternately in white blocked Glasgow Style roses or clusters of five speared leaves blocked in green. Blocked elongated gilt teardrops to ground behind. Above, a blocked gilt title panel in the form of a heart, with serif letters picked out in red. The volume number set within an inset red heart with crown. Above the panel, a gilt blocked crown with heart finials, followed by a leaf cluster and two blocked white roses. To bottom, a squashed heart blocked in white with teardrops picked out in red and surmounted by a blocked gilt crown with heart finials. This design was exhibited at the influential Esposizione Internazionale d'Arte Decorativa Moderna in Turin in 1902.
