Description Postcard, printed, cardboard, polychrome, anti-suffrage comic card depicts an old bespectacled suffragette struggling with a policeman outside Holloway Gaol 'votes for women' leaflets are strewn on the floor, printed inscription front: 'THIS IS 'THE HOUSE' THAT MAN BUILT, AND this is the home of the poor Suffragette, And there's room for a great many more in it yet; When they racket and riot And will not keep quiet, We place them on plank beds and very low diet; To stop all their din We just run them in, Into THIS House that ,man built.'; printed inscription front: 'B.B. LONDON SERIES', manuscript inscription reverse: 'Dear Miss Lee I had a line from my sister to say you are going to Hastings on W. I do so hope you will have nice weather & the change will make you quite strong give my love to Emma & thank her for her note & with ?? for yourself Yours sincerely I may have time to see you I hope before you go, if not goodbye.
