No 42: Vase, 1970 (P.75.94)
Made in St Ives, this narrow-necked vase is thrown in stoneware and has a pleasing, gently curved profile. Its body is incised, or combed, with a toothed instrument in a motif of languid willow trees and brushed with mid-brown iron decoration under a transparent glaze.
