No 11: Vase, 1935 (P.74.144)
Another spherical vase of great refinement, this one was selected for 'The Maker's Eye', a survey exhibition organised by the Crafts Council, London, in 1981. The reduced stoneware body is glazed in box ash (No.VII), appearing as a variegated grey-green colour with a splash of fox-red (iron) half way up the body, near the neck. One of the characteristics of Katharine Pleydell-Bouverie's vases is the flattened, everted rim she favours which emphasises the solidity of her forms.
