When Bernard Leach died, a large amount of his papers, his study collection of old western and oriental pots, and many of his own ceramics including pots and models, were passed to the Crafts Study Centre. They formed a unique body of material recording the life and work of one of the greatest applied artists of the twentieth century. Over the years the collection was slowly catalogued, and much of it has recently been digitised, thus improving access to this important body of reference material. The digitisation programme also includes many of his major documents, such as diaries and correspondence.
