| Description | John Dove Wilson was born in 1833. He was called to the Scottish Bar in 1857. He was the Sheriff Substitute of Aberdeen between 1878 and 1890, then held the position of Professor of Law at Aberdeen University 1891-1901. He received an Honorary LLD. from Aberdeen University, dying at San Remo in 1908. He is here painted in profile, facing left. His hair is mostly black, with some grey in it, while his full beard, which hides his mouth, is almost completely grey. He wears a white wing-collared shirt; only the collar and tie have been fully painted in. |
