| Description | This still-life painting, in a horizontal format, depicts flowers, including tulips and lilies-of-the-valley, placed casually in an open basket. Smaller blooms can be seen pushing out through the spaces in the open weave of the basket. The dominant colours used to paint the flowers are a pale green and various shades of red, set against a very dark background. It is painted in a somewhat primitive style. | |
