Inscription Recto - As title and "Wm Rd Lethaby, 20 Calthorpe Street, WC" (in pencil). "See developed detail of rim on other sheet"; "Detail of dish: to be of silver repousse the ground gilt the rim of the gadroon and flutes alternately and pierced in the spandrils as shown"; "Pegasus No1". All in ink, unless otherwise stated.

Material Pencil, pen and brown ink and black ink with watercolour on paper.
Notes Design for Silverware competition at the Goldsmiths' Hall. Lethaby entered the competition three years running (1882-84). This is part of his 1883 entry which won him a £35 prize, the year in which he used the pseudonym "Pegasus".
Object Notes Detail of the dish from Lethaby's 1883 entry into the Goldsmiths' competition "Ewer and dish in silver2; featuring foliate motifs, highlights and colouring with watercolours.
