| Subject | Illuminated manuscripts; | |
| Material | Paint, gold leaf on parchment. (F.125.1 on the ´hair side´, .2 on the ´flesh side´). | |
| Notes | Mounted with F.124.1-2. These two fragments appear to be from the same manuscript which was probably a monastic choir book (such as a Gradual or an Antiphonal). These would have originally been part of the Central School's Teaching Examples Collection. | |
| Object Notes | Foliate border decoration with stylised tri-lobed flowers, berries and gold dots; red guide-lines or staves are visible. This is a fragment of a decorative border (in purple, green and gold) which would originally have surrounded a body of text, a miniature or a body of musical notation and text. The recto (and only side of this fragment visible) shows that this side of the parchment was the 'hair' side. | |
