This 2000s, red, orange and black unstrung Wilson [K] Six One Tour tennis racket has an orange handle made of a DuPont aramid fibre called Kevlar (R). The carbon fibre used for the frame is a form exclusive to Wilson called Karophite Black (R). Its special characteristic is the way it uses nanotechnology to fuse molecules of high modulus carbon. It is claimed to be four times stronger, four times stiffer, and 65% lighter than titanium. The racket weighs 340 grams and has Iso-Zorb (R) grommets which are made from plastic similar to that used in sky scraper foundations to absorb earthquake generated shock. This model of racket was used by Roger Federer in 2008. |
