| Process | Border, warp and weft: 10 x two-block units of varying lengths, alternate Swedish lace and plain weave. Five threads of grey stripe/5 thread stripe with two of pink and 3 of natural/5 thread grey stripe. Central Panel: 8 x six squares of alternate plain weave and Swedish lace; each bordered with 2 units of the alternate weave (that is plain weave with Swedish lace corners round Swedish lace square and vice versa). Inlay motifs, in 2 designs, worked in pink and grey plyed yarn, in eight, apparently randomly chosen, plain weave squares. Selvedge: 5/5 double ends 26 ends per inch 24-27 picks per inch | |
