Inner London Education Authority Educational Television Service Graphics designer. The Authority is in the process of establishing a closed-circuit television service to cover the whole of its area. A studio centre is being set up in Islington and a number of staff in various categories will be required. City of Cardiff Education Committee College of Art. Applications are invited from suitably qualified students for the following courses to be held during the session 1967-68. 1 The Diploma in Art Education. Open to serving specialist teachers of art already qualified as graduates for salary purposes, with not less than five years' teaching experience. The purpose of the course is to give art teachers the opportunity to undertake a supervised enquiry into an aspect of art education of their own choice. The diploma will be awarded jointly by the University College of South Wales and Monmouthshire and the College of Art. 2 Third year supplementary course in art and crafts. Open to men and women qualified teachers. Third year supplementary certificates are awarded by the School of Education and successful students are also awarded a college diploma. These courses begin in September 1967. 3 One term course in design (with special reference to industrial design). A course in design in secondary education, for serving specialist teachers of art with not less than five years' teaching experience. The course is of one term's full-time study beginning in January 1968. An attempt will be made to test the value of design as an extension of the art/craft study in the secondary school; studies will include the man-made environment, design methods, and human factors affecting design concepts. It is permissible for local education authorities to second serving teachers on salary to attend any of the above courses. 4 The Art Teacher's Diploma of the University of Wales. A one-year course for students holding the Diploma in Art and Design, the National Diploma in Design or similar qualifications.
